Day 24: My Daily Reminder

Is there a passage of scripture you know really well?  Or a lesson you learned when you were in Sunday school that you can still think of and recall all the little details?  One of the passages I have read in my Bible time and time again is the passage where Jesus is teaching about worry in Matthew 6:25-34.

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, or about your body, what you will wear.  Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?  Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not of more value than they?  And can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your sapn of life?  And why do you worry about clothing?  Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these.  But if God so clothed the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow and is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you--you of little faith?  Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What will we ath?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'What will we wear?'  For it is the Gentiles who strive for all these things; and indeed your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.  But strive first fo the Kingdom of God and his righteousnesss and all these things will be given to you as well.  So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own.  Today's trouble is enough for today."

For some of us, this is the first time of reading this passage.  For others of us, this is a very well-known passage and one that have read, studied and heard many times.  All of us forget sometimes that worrying is not going to do anything for us, and isn't going to help in any way besides showing that God that we do not trust Him with what He is going to do for us.  We get so wrapped up in our jobs, family, friends, and all the situations we face with each of those three categories that we forget there is a God in control who is going to take care of us, and provide for us, and all we have to do is give our worries and our troubles to Him and He's going to make sure we are all okay.

So today, or even starting tomorrow, take the whole day to not worry about anything.  Not worry about what some person might think of you or say to you.  Take the day to not worry about your career, your spouse or your children.  Still care about them and love on them, but don't worry about a situation that you are facing with them.  Take the whole day to give all your worries to God and to be worry free.

Hope you have an amazing day!  ~Brittney
